Black Bean Chipotle Burger Patties

Ingredients

  • 2–15 oz. cans black beans

  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tsp chipotle powder

  • 1 ½ Tbsp. Olive oil 

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

- This recipe makes about 6–4 inch patties. You can make the patties whatever size you desire, however, do keep in mind the cook time will change.

Cooking Steps

Prep Black Beans

Rinse 2–15oz. cans of black beans. Mash beans in a medium bowl with a fork until smooth. 

Add in Other Ingredients

To black bean mixture, add in 1 cup panko bread crumbs, 1 large egg, 1 tsp chipotle powder, and salt & pepper to taste. Mix all ingredients until fully combined. 

Form into Patties

Form the black bean mixture into 4 inch patties (makes about 6 burger patties). 

Cook Patties

Heat 1 ½ Tbsp. olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add in patties and cook for 2-3 minutes each side, or until browned. 

Remove from heat and serve.
