Super Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies-Small Batch

Ingredients

  • ½ stick (4 Tbsp.) unsalted butter, softened

  • ¼ cup brown sugar

  • 2 Tbsp. sugar

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour

  • ¼ cup applesauce 

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • ¼-½ cup chocolate chips

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp baking soda

    - Depending on the size of your chocolate chips, you may want to use anywhere from ¼ cup to ½ cup. 

    - This recipe is a little unique and is actually egg-free! Applesauce vs eggs make these cookies that much softer!

Cooking Steps

Mix Wet Ingredients

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Beat ½ stick of butter, 2 Tbsp. sugar, ¼ cup brown sugar until light and fluffy in a bowl. Mix in ¼ cup applesauce and ½ tsp vanilla extract until well-combined.

Mix Dry Ingredients

Combine ½ cup all-purpose flour, ¼ tsp baking soda, and ¼ tsp salt in another bowl.

Finish Batter

Add flour mixture and ¼ - ½ cup chocolate chips to wet ingredients until combined. 

Bake Cookies

Drop dough by the tablespoon, spacing a few in/cm apart on a lined baking sheet. Bake 9-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
