Beet & Orange Juice Without a Juicer
#vegetarian #vegan #family-friendly
Total Time: 5 min.
Ingredients
Oranges (cara cara, navel, valencia, mandarin, etc.)
Raw or pre-cooked beets
Water, optional
Cookware
A metal strainer or cheesecloth, optional
A large bowl
A blender
A spoon
* Keep in mind: orange varieties produce varying amounts of juice. A rough estimate is 1 orange = ¼ to ⅓ cup of juice.
* If you want pulp in your juice, skip the straining or strain and only use a portion of the leftover pulp.
Steps
Prep
Rinse and peel oranges. Peel beets, if not using pre-packaged. To a blender cup, add peeled oranges and beets. Depending on desired thickness, add water to the blender to thin out the juice.
Blend
Secure the blender cup with the lid and place it on the blender base. Use a low setting and pulse until a smooth liquid mixture forms. Remove from the bottom of the blender.
Strain
Place a strainer on top of a large bowl. Pour the juice on top of the strainer and use a spoon to press the juice out of the pulp. Once fully strained, set aside the pulp for later use and divide the juice between serving glasses. Enjoy!
