Do you have frozen green beans holding space hostage in your freezer? Then try out this garlic and onion green bean recipe! With a few extra staple ingredients, you can have an easy and delicious dinner side. Sautéed onions and garlic will finish off the green beans to give you an amazing dish that only takes minutes to prepare.

  • Use any onions that you have on hand. No onion needs to be left out of this recipe! The onion could be red, white, yellow, or even a shallot. Apply this same principle to the garlic that you will use. Any garlic, fresh or from a jar, will work.

Ingredients

2 cups of Green Beans

2 cloves of garlic

1 Tbsp. of olive oil

½ diced onion

Cooking Steps

Sauté Green Beans

Add 2 tbsp of olive oil to a medium skillet over medium heat. After 30 secs and the pan is slightly heated, add in 2 cups of green beans. Cook for 3-4 mins. If you are using frozen green beans, you may see some steam, but that is the green beans thawing out.

Prep Onions and Garlic

As the green beans sauté, finely dice half of an onion. Roughly mince 2 cloves of garlic.

Sauté Onion

Add the diced onion to the skillet. Sauté the onions until they are browned on edges about 3-4 mins.

Sauté Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook, stirring, for 30 sec. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Remove from heat and serve.
