Hot Honey Salmon
#Pescatarian
Spicy yet sweet, how is this possible? As with other recipes on my blog, this hot honey salmon recipe will combine two different flavors to create one well-balanced dish. If you like having a little bit of spice without having your tongue burn to death, then this is the recipe for you. The cayenne will provide all the spice while honey provides a hint of sweetness to form the perfect balance. So, if you would like to avoid the burn and sweat, try out this hot honey salmon.
You may use parchment paper, but it may burn slightly when broiling the salmon. Aluminum foil is recommended for this recipe.
Use the broiler setting on a conventional oven.
If you want high quality salmon, I highly recommend buying your salmon or other seafood from Wild Alaskan Company. I became a pescatarian very recently and they are the only company that I truly trust to provide sustainable and wild caught seafood. They also ship directly to your home so there is no need to waste time standing in any grocery lines. Out with the old and in with the new! Ingredients
2- 6 oz salmon fillets (https://wldaskn.com/w/WS5SNp)
Drizzle of honey
Salt and pepper
2 tsps. of cayenne pepper
1 Tbsp of olive oil
Cooking Steps
Prep Salmon
If frozen, thaw salmon fillets. If needed, do any necessary cutting to remove parts of the fish you do not wish to eat. I leave the skin on the fish when cooking in the oven, however, you can remove whatever parts you desire.
Preheat the broiler to high (broiler on oven).
Add Spices
Place salmon on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, skin side up.
Drizzle each fillet using about 0.5 Tbsp of olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and 1 tsp of cayenne.
Cook Salmon
Place both salmon fillets into the preheated oven, about 5 inches from the heat source. Broil until the skin is crispy and the fish is cooked through, around 5-7 minutes.
Once cooked through, remove from the oven and drizzle honey over the top. Serve immediately.
