Ingredients
1 serving of steel cut oats, cooked
1 apple
½ Tbsp brown sugar or maple syrup
½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp salt
1 Tbsp. butter (14g)
½ tsp vanilla, optional
Cooking Steps
Prepare Apple
Cut an apple into small bite-sized pieces. Melt 1 Tbsp. butter (14g) in a small skillet over medium heat. Add apples into the pan. Meanwhile, prepare steel cut oats according to your package’s instructions.
Cook Apples
Once apples are lightly browned, stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla. Lower the heat to medium low and cook for an additional 3-4 min., or until the sugar is fully dissolved and the apples are softened.
Serve
Spoon the apples over the cooked steel cut oats. Serve!
