#vegetarian #vegan #family-friendly

Total Time: 1 hr 30 min.

Servings: 9x9” bread

Ingredients

Dough

  • 5 Tbsp (60g) olive oil, divided

  • 1 ½ cups (340g) warm water

  • 1 ¼ tsp (8g) salt

  • 3 ½ cups (420g) flour

  • 1 Tbsp (9g) instant yeast

Topping

  • 1 Tbsp (13g) olive oil, for drizzling

  • 1-2 tsp. dried rosemary & thyme, optional

  • ½ tsp garlic powder, optional

Cooking Steps

Prep

Use non-stick spray to lightly grease a 9x9” pan. Drizzle about 2 Tbsp (25g) of olive oil into the pan.

Make Dough

In a medium bowl, combine flour, the remaining olive oil, warm water, salt, and instant yeast. Beat on high speed with an electric mixer for 1 min. *If you don’t have an electric mixer, knead the dough by hand until it forms a sticky, yet structured dough.

Let the Dough Rise

Place the dough in the prepared pan, and let rise at room temperature for about 1 hour. The dough should puff up.

While the dough is rising, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Bake Focaccia

Once risen, gently poke the dough all over with your finger.

Drizzle the focaccia lightly with olive oil, and sprinkle with dried rosemary or thyme and garlic powder (optional).

Bake the bread until it's golden brown, 25-30 min.

Remove from the oven, and let sit in the pan for about 5 min. Then turn the bread out onto a serving plate or wire rack. Serve either warm or at room temperature. Enjoy!
