Ingredients

- ⅔ cup all-purpose flour 

- 1 tsp. granulated sugar

- 6 Tbsp. cold butter

- ½ tsp salt

- ¼ cup of water

Cooking Steps

Make Dough

In a medium bowl, combine ⅔ cup flour, 1 tsp sugar, and ½ tsp salt. Cut 6 Tbsp cold butter into about ½ in (or 1 ½ cm) pieces and stir into the flour mixture. Use your fingers to flatten and press the butter in slightly. 

Chill Dough

Sprinkle ¼ cup of very cold water over the butter. Stir until just combined. Next, use your hands to knead the mixture a few times until the dough forms a shaggy ball. Form the dough into a round 4-inch 10 centimeter disk (about ¾ inch or 2 cm thick). Wrap in plastic and chill in the fridge for at least an hour (max 24 hours). 

Roll Out Dough

On a well-floured surface, roll out the dough into a 10-inch circle (or whatever size or shape is needed for your dessert). Fill the crust with the filling you desire and bake as required for your filling. Happy baking!
