Orange Juice Without a Juicer

#vegetarian #vegan #family-friendly

Total Time: 5 min.

Ingredients

  • Oranges

  • Water, optional

Cookware

  • A metal strainer or cheesecloth, optional

  • A large bowl

  • A blender

  • A spoon

* Keep in mind: orange varieties produce varying amounts of juice. A rough estimate is 1 orange = ¼ to ⅓ cup of juice.

* If you want pulp in your orange juice, skip the straining or strain and only use a portion of the leftover pulp.

Steps

Prep

Rinse and peel oranges. To a blender cup, add peeled oranges. Depending on desired thickness, add water to the oranges to thin out the juice.

Blend

Secure the blender cup with the lid and place it on the blender base. Use a low setting and pulse the oranges until a smooth liquid mixture forms. Remove from the bottom of the blender.

Strain

Place a strainer on top of a large bowl. Pour the orange juice on top of the strainer and use a spoon to press the juice out of the pulp. Once fully strained, set aside the pulp for later use and divide the juice between serving glasses. Enjoy!
