Simple Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 stick (8 Tbsp.) unsalted butter, softened

  • ¼ cup brown sugar

  • ¼ cup sugar

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 cup chocolate chips

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp baking soda

* Tip: Depending on the size of your chocolate chips, you may want to use anywhere from ½ cup to 1 cup. 

Cooking Steps

Mix Wet Ingredients

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Beat 1 stick of butter, ¼ cup sugar, and ¼ cup brown sugar until light and fluffy in a bowl. Mix 1 egg and 1 tsp vanilla extract until well-combined.

Mix Dry Ingredients

Combine 1 cup all-purpose flour, ½ tsp baking soda, and ¼ tsp salt in another bowl. 

Finish Batter

Add flour mixture and 1 cup chocolate chips to wet ingredients until combined. 

Bake Cookies

Drop dough by the tablespoon, spacing a few in/cm apart on a lined baking sheet. Bake for 9-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
