Total Time: 40 min.

Servings: 6

Ingredients

- ¾ cup flour

- ½ tsp. baking powder

- ½ tsp cinnamon + ¼ tsp

- ¼ tsp ground ginger + ¼ tsp

- ¼ tsp salt

- 5 Tbsp. unsalted butter, softened

- ½ cup sugar + ⅓ cup

- 1 egg

- ½ tsp vanilla extract

- ¼ cup apple juice

Cooking Steps

Prep

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a donut pan.

Start Batter

In a medium bowl, combine ¾ cup flour, ½ tsp baking powder, ½ tsp cinnamon, ¼ tsp ground ginger, and ¼ tsp salt.

Cream Butter & Sugar

Cream 5 Tbsp. butter with ½ cup granulated sugar until pale and fluffy, about 3 min. Add 1 egg and ½ tsp vanilla extract, mix to combine.

Finish Batter

Add flour mixture and ¼ cup apple juice to the butter-egg mixture. Mix until just combined, making sure not to overmix. The batter may look lumpy but that is ok.

Bake

Divide the batter evenly among the 6-donut pan. Bake for 15-18 min., or until browned around the edges, and a tester comes out clean.

Coat the Donuts

While the donuts bake, in a medium bowl, stir to combine ¼ tsp cinnamon, ¼ tsp ground ginger, and ⅓ cup sugar. Once the donuts are baked, immediately transfer them to the sugar mixture and toss to coat. Enjoy!
